Kiri Sunde, MD, MS • Pediatrician & clinical geneticist
Dr. Kiri Sunde is board-certified pediatrician and medical geneticist dedicated to the care of Amish, Mennonite, and other rural populations. Prior to her medical training, she was a Mary Ellen Avery Research Fellow at the Clinic for Special Children in Strasburg, Pennsylvania. She then completed her medical degree at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where she also earned a master’s degree in Clinical and Translational Sciences.
Dr. Sunde completed a pediatrics residency at the University of Wisconsin and a medical genetics residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where she is currently completing her final year of training as a medical biochemical genetics fellow. She will join the Community Health Clinic team full-time in Fall 2025.
In addition to working with Plain populations, Dr. Sunde’s professional interests include newborn screening, bioethics, and global health.
Outside of work, Dr. Sunde enjoys travelling, hiking, camping, reading, hammocking, and horseback riding.
